The laboratory of Virology and Genetics, headed by Prof Didier Trono, has a long-standing interest in the biology of viruses and viral infections. Research in Professor Trono’s laboratory at EPFL is now also focused on the study of mobile genetic elements and their role in regulating gene expression in mammals. The laboratory of Didier Trono and EPFL also partake in the Swiss National SARS-CoV-2 Genomic Surveillance Program.
The laboratory is supported by different funding bodies (European Union, Swiss National Foundation, Swiss Cancer Research)
